  5. Installation

  8. Run setup.exe from File Manager of Program Manager to install.  This
  9. will create the necessary directories and install the files.
  10.  
  11. Documentation is in a single file called WINREFER.WRI, but because
  12. this is big (over 1Mb, because it includes screen shots) setup will
  13. leave it compressed in an archive called DOC.ZIP which must be
  14. un-zipped manually.

  16. Please read first, as it explains the meanings of the files which
  17. will need to be supplied to WinRefer when it is first run.

  19. Once setup is completed, you may delete the directory into which
  20. you originally un-zipped to files.

  23. Known bugs
  24. ----------

  26. A couple of bugs are known about, and will be fixed shortly.
  27.  
  28. There's a limit of 10000 characters on the length of a reference as
  29. held internally - which is slightly less than 10000 characters in 
  30. text form.  This shouldn't be a problem unless the reference
  31. contains a large abstract.

  33. More seriously, WinRefer doesn't appear to handle reference files
  34. in which the end-of-file is encountered without a carriage-return:
  35. in other words, EOF occurs at the end of a meaningful reference
  36. line.  Adding a blank line to the end of the file cures this.
